web series' on the rise

this is very exciting to me.

Just after we hear news of the first time a web series has been picked up by a major network (Quarterlife moving to NBC), we get news of some awards given out to best comedy and best drama web series in TV Guide's Inaugural Online Video Awards.

Best comedy went to the aforementioned Clark and Michael. Which I have turned a bunch of my friends onto and everyone seems to love it. It hards not to love Michael Cera.

Best drama went to Ghost Whisperer: The Other Side. Both of these shows are produced by CBS, who has really cranked it up on web tv production.

It's interesting to see how this format and medium work. Is this the wave of the future?
